Casual, Short, & Sweet.
I don’t really have a lot to say except that I have so much new found respect for people who work right up until they give birth. It’s not as easy as I thought it was going to be.
The constant fatigue that you have to fight through. The nausea that you go through on your lunch break. The swelling of the feet that occur at the end of the day. It’s all so tiring and difficult.
With that said, (Advanced for USA) Happy Mother’s Day (today for Mexico)!

Shopping On My Day Off
‘I shouldn’t have taken the day off.’
I found myself mumbling that once the day ended — when I realized that I spent the amount I could have made by working instead of taking the day off.
Granted, it felt good to sleep in and not have to worry about anybody giving me a lecture at work. It was successful in that manner. I also had my doctor’s appointment today, where we decided to let nature run its course, but if I go past my due date, I will get induced.
If you saw my instagram pic, the baby critter (Kobe, the Pekingese) got his grooming done today. I felt so bad leaving him there, but since I skipped my appointment, he had to be a walk-in and was scheduled 2 hours after I got to the store. I felt like I was dropping off my kid to daycare, and he didn’t want to let go. He was so excited to see me once I came back to pick him up 5 hours later. I ended up getting him a new shirt, toy, and food for the road. He was happy.
I had been procrastinating when it came to packing for things for the hospital, so I decided to buy a couple of things at Target while I was there. I ended up getting some intimates, 2 pajama bottoms, a robe, slippers, and all the toiletries that we’re probably going to need. Having worked in the hospital since 2004, I know the quality of the toothbrush & shampoo that they provide, so I decided to bring my own. I immediately hit up the $0.97 “travel” aisle at the store and grabbed the usual.
The bottom three are my presents for my mom, sister, and sister-in-law, who are mothers. They’re nothing too major, just little things that I saw and thought that they would like. Well, I hope they do.
The first store I stopped by was Rue 21.
I always find good deals there when it comes to casual wear. They usually have $4 or $5 racks where, if you have the patience, you can find great deals. I got the neon + tribal top on clearance with an extra 50% off the already on sale price. I really want to try out the neon trend, and what better than to have a lime green top with some tribal embellishments already built in to the shirt.
The second pic is a shift dress. Just your typical color block dress being sold for $5, so I wasn’t about to let it go. It was the last one there, and so I took it home with me. The two necklaces were also on clearance for 50% off each, so I bought both colors. It goes with the neon trend so well!
Ross is a hit or miss store. You either find a lot or too little. Today, I found a lot. I really wanted to take everything home with me, but I didn’t want to over do it. My husband was already sweet enough to tell me to take the day off, and he even gave me his blessing to go shopping.
I ended up getting another neon top, this time, it’s yellow. I’m going to try to rock these at work. Hopefully, the patients won’t get too blinded. Then again, they’re recovery patients, so they probably just think it’s the anesthesia that a case manager is walking around the station with a bright neon top.
The polka dotted top came in orange & green. I couldn’t pick between the two, so I ended up just getting both. I figured I’d get a lot of use out of both of them anyway, so it’ll end up being a good buy.
The two dresses on the right — one was on clearance. There’s a little tear at the waist area, but I really liked the colors and the design that I overlooked it. Nothing that a little sewing can’t fix. The other dress was this adorable pastel pleated dress with a belt, perfect for my pregnancy bump!
Afterwards, I went to Marshalls and bought a couple of clearance items.
I decided to buy some thin socks for when I wear flats. They give the flats a little bit of a layered comfort feel and keep my sweating to a minimum. I found a hi-low skirt for $5 from the clearance racks and decided to take it home with me. The tie-dye shorts were an impulse buy, but now that I look at my purchase from Kohl’s, I realize that they’re a match made in heaven with the Marilyn Monroe top.
While I was at Kohl’s, I decided to try on every single Lauren Conrad dress with the intention of purchasing one. I decided not to because let’s face it, even though they’re on sale, they’re still a little steep in price. I usually wait until they’re completely on clearance at 80% off before I buy.
Well, I found two sweater tops that I really wanted of two past icons (MM & The Beatles) and a great tie-dye vest on the clearance racks, so the trip wasn’t too much of a bust.
There’s a new store in my mall called Sasha Clothing. It’s a little trendy place, kind of like Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, or A’Gaci. I didn’t really buy any clothes because although they were decently priced, they are far too trendy, and I have to think about my pregnancy bump when I wear the clothes. I just bought some bracelets and told the manager that I would definitely come back after I’ve given birth.
The four bags are from different stores. The Nine West blue clutch and the brown purse in the back are both from Ross. The big purse was on clearance, while the clutch was already decently priced, so of course, they came home with me. The pink clutch is from Target. I was *this* close to getting the tan version but decided against it at the last minute. I should’ve. It was only $17 and the last one there. The white clutch was from Marshall’s, on clearance for less than $20.
The shoes on the left are by Candies from Kohl’s. They also had a lavender and darker purple version. I had such a hard time picking which ones to get, so of course, I enlisted the help of a few of my fellow shoe lovers and most of them picked the coral. The sales girl even voted for coral.
Then when I got home, I realized that I had just bought a pair from Urbanog that were kind of, somewhat, just a tad, maybe a little bit close to the color and the design. Oooops.
And last, but not least, I clicked, I saw, and I conquered.
I bought these shoes on a whim. I really liked how futuristic they look. Well, let’s face it, they remind me of all the shoes that Lady Gaga wears, that Alexander McQueen designed, Jeffrey Campbell knocked off, and now Urbanog is selling at a much cheaper price.
I don’t like buying trendy shoes at designer prices, so I always wait for the “inspired by” versions.
These shoes are not that hard to walk in to be quite honest. The only problem is I really don’t know where I’m going to wear it at this point. I might have to wait for Halloween so that these bad boys can get a test drive on real concrete and not just my house’s wooden floors.
The ELF palette was only $5 at Target, and I really liked how bright some of the colors were compared to the other palette that I already have. I can’t wait to wear the neon colors of the palette with my neon shirt / top and neon accessories — and look like a clown.
Okay, I might be a little obsessed with neon — must — calm — down.
The razors are pretty self-explanatory.
If you must know though . . . having a belly makes it really hard to bend down and shave my legs. I haven’t tried the bathtub, but I’m thinking it might be just as difficult.
TMI . . I’m gonna go now.
A Busy Week For Me . . .
Most of my dresses have turned into tunics. The clothes that I once wore by themselves have to be paired up with leggings now, or else I’m going to showing the world everything for free!
I am officially 37 weeks this week, so the countdown is still in effect.
I’m sorry for not blogging for a while. The fatigue had just taken over.
Work has been busy, so every time I get home, I just want to sit on the couch, watch T.V. and cuddle with my two boys (husband and Kobe, the pekingese).
My Saturday day off consisted of taking Kobe to the vet to get his rabies shot. I don’t know if they don’t just take me seriously, but I specifically told them that he had an allergic reaction the past two shots and to give him a prophylactic dose of Benadryl, but they ignored me.
After the shot, Kobe had a reaction again. He threw up in the car, and his face started getting swollen. I felt so bad because I just wanted him to feel better, but he had to wait until we got home to take the Benadryl and to let the effects kick in. He was so weak the whole day.
We ended up having a Cotto / Mayweather fight night at our house and invited some people over. He didn’t even sniff a single person. He was just so tired from his ordeal that he just looked at everybody from the floor and played with his Mr. Pig squeaky toy.
Sunday was a work day, since I signed up to help a co-worker. I went in at 6:50 and finished my day to watch Gian’s basketball tournament. Afterwards, we met up with some friends for Boba tea and watched 21 Jump Street. It was a pretty good movie. There’s some funny parts and some really cheesy parts, but Channing Tatum’s acting has gotten a whole lot better since he first started!
After the movie, we went to my brother’s birthday BBQ dinner and then home to sleep.
The next day, waking up for work was horrible.
I was just so tired. I couldn’t really open my eyes or move my body, so my husband told me to pick a day to take off during the week since I worked the weekend. I chose today. We have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon, and I need to take Kobe to the groomers, so it works out well.
I guess that’s my one week update for everybody since I didn’t blog for a whole week!
There was actually an argument with a Bank Of America customer service representative somewhere in there who said we hadn’t paid our card since February.
“Oh really? Then why does my bank statement say that you took out this much last month?”
“Let me transfer you to our online bill department.”
Okay then . . .
As it turns out, their website was going cuckoo with my account and after some digging, my payments did go through, it just wasn’t updated. Needless to say, I was fuming.
Okay, that’s it this time. I’m really going to go now!
